Rapper Phat Geez Killed In North Philadelphia: Authorities Detectives are investigating the murder of a popular rapper in Philadelphia on Sunday night, March 17.  Derrick Gant, who performs under the stage name Phat Geez, was shot multiple times on the 1200 block of North Taney Avenue, according to city police.  Authorities said it happened around 10:15 p.m. Gant was found lying in the street and was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital where he died at 10:30 p.m., police said.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by PricelessLife$tyle R™ Handsome (@phatgeezz) Fellow rapper and Phila…

Philadelphia Police Name Officer Killed In Airport Shooting (Updated) Two Philadelphia police officers were shot — one fatally — while in the parking garage at the Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday night. Officer Richard Mendez, a 50-year-old with 22 years in the department, was hit multiple times and died from his wounds, PPD brass said at a Friday evening press conference.  Officer Raul Ortiz, 60, was hit once in the arm and is in stable condition at Jefferson Hospital, according to Interim Commissioner John Stanford.
