The crash involving three tractor-trailers and an SUV happened in the eastbound lanes of I-78 at milepost 49, near Route 100, in Upper Macungie Township just before 5:20 a.m. on Oct. 4, authorities said. Tractor-Trailer Involved In Fiery Lehigh County Crash, Authorities Say A fire broke out on a Lehigh County highway following an accident late Wednesday morning, say officials.  The crash happened in the westbound lanes on Route 22 in Upper Macungie, said Trooper Nathan Branosky in a post just after 11 a.m. A tractor-trailer and a sedan were involved, and medics were called to the scene alongside state police and firefighters, he added.  All Route 22 traffic is being detoured onto Route 309 as emergency crews work the scene, Branosky said.
