PA Teens Accused Of Aggravated Assault Near Jersey Shore City's Boardwalk: Police Two teens from Pennsylvania were accused of aggravated assault near a Cape May County boardwalk, authorities said. Two boys, a 17-year-old from Philadelphia and a 16-year-old from Ivyland, PA, turned themselves in to North Wildwood police, the department said in a news release on Thursday, June 27. Police posted two pictures of the suspects on Facebook on Sunday, June 9.  The teens were wanted in an incident on Saturday, June 8 near the corner of East 26th Avenue and the Boardwalk. Two Fighting Dogs Shot, Killed By Police In West Philadelphia: Authorities A police officer fatally shot two dogs after they attacked a woman in West Philadelphia on Wednesday morning, June 5, officials say.  According to PPD, a 57-year-old man was calling for help when a stray dog attacked his pet on his porch on the 1500 block of North 57th Street.  An 18-year-old woman intervened using mace and the pit bulls were separated, but the 57-year-old's other dog ran out from the home and attacked the woman, police said.  She was bitten on her arm and ankle before fleeing, authorities continued.  "(A)ll three dogs turned on each other" and were fi…

Body Found In Garage After Fire, Philadelphia Police Say One person is dead after a garage caught fire in southwest Philadelphia early on Thursday, March 21, authorities say. Police and firefighters were called to the 7600 block of Este Avenue in the city's Eastwick neighborhood just before 1:30 a.m., PPD said. After the flames were extinguished firefighters found the victim's body inside the garage, according to police.  They were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials did not report their name.  The Fire Marshal is investigating, police added.

PA Man Chased Victim With Lawnmower Blade, Authorities Say Police in Ambler Borough say an area resident chased down another while brandishing a lawnmower blade as a weapon.  Evergicio Gonzalez, 34, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and possessing an instrument of crime, the department said.  A woman called 911 around 9 p.m. on Sept. 18 and told dispatchers Gonzalez was armed with a machete and threatening to kill her husband, according to police.  Authorities said the blade was actually from a mower, and alleged that Gonzalez chased the victim with the weapon before throwing it and nearly hitting a child.  G…

Serial Rapist Convicted Of 13-Year-Old Girl's Sex Assault In Delco: Police A Delaware County man is guilty of the rape of a 13-year-old girl, authorities say. Haralambos Giannopoulos, 38, of Nether Providence Township, was convicted of indecent assault and corruption of a minor following four hours of jury deliberation on Thursday, Nov. 17, police said in a statement.  His victim, now 19, took the stand to give emotional testimony during the three-day trial. “I am extremely pleased with the verdict, which is the result of many hours of hard work on a very sensitive case,” said township police Chief David Splain.
