Man Armed With Rifle Arrested In Delaware County: Police
Police in Marple Township said they took an armed suspect into custody on Monday afternoon, April 1. Officers were called to the 400 block of Yale Avenue around 2:20 p.m. for "a domestic dispute involving a male armed with a rifle," Marple police said in a release. Authorities said they blocked off the area and made contact with the suspect before disarming and arresting him. Elderly Pedestrian Critically Hurt In Delco Crash: Police
A senior is in the hospital after police said he was hit by a car in Marple Township on Saturday morning, Dec. 23. The elderly man was crossing Broomall Avenue when he was struck by a southbound vehicle near West Chester Pike around 10:20 a.m., township police said in a release. He was rushed to Lankenau Hospital where he was placed in critical condition, authorities wrote. The driver remained on-scene and police said they are cooperating with investigators. Marple police and Delaware County detectives are investigating, the release adds.

Marple PD: DUI Driver Admits Having Empty Heroin Bags
A DUI driver admitted to having empty heroin bags in his car during a traffic stop in Marple Township, authorities said. When an officer stopped Sean Mehaffey on April 12 for violating codes, they noticed he was unable to remain still, had constricted pupils, avoided eye contact, and continuously scratched and picked at his fingers and hands, around 3:15 p.m., according to Marple police. When the officer asked Mehaffey to get out of his white Scion xB, he admitted to having empty heroin bags in the driver's door, police said.
