2 Young Girls Killed In Hellertown House Fire: Report Two young girls were killed in a Hellertown house fire Friday, April 1, authorities said. Firefighters responded to the 600 block of Linden Avenue just before 1 a.m., where they found the house engulfed in flames, officials said. Abigail Kaufman, 10, and Brianna Baer, 15, were trapped in the blaze and later rescued by firefighters, but they died at St Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. The woman told officers she was running on the SV Rail-Trail between Water and Walnut Streets in Hellertown when she was confronted by an elderly man who “came out from the wooded area [and] grabbed her shirt as she ran by” around 9:30 a.m. August 20, police said. Northampton PD Seeks ID For Man Who Tried To Lure Boy Into Van, Fled When Confronted Police in Northampton County are seeking information on a man who allegedly approached a boy on the street and asked him to get inside his car. The boy was walking a disabled bicycle near Main Street and Walnut Street in Hellertown when the man approached him and asked the boy to “come to him so he can assist with his bicycle” around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, local police said.
