Forks Township Man Charged With Raping Acquaintance, Police Say A 27-year-old man has been charged with raping a woman he knew in Forks Township, authorities said on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Eddie Cary Colon was charged with felony rape by forcible compulsion and indecent assault by forcible compulsion, a misdemeanor, Fork Township police said in a press release. Forks Township police officers responded to the 1000 block of George Street for a reported disturbance on Sept. 11 shortly before 3 p.m. Colon was arraigned and bail was set at $100,000, according to court records. Cosenza Dies Swimming In Delaware River: Coroner A 60-year-old Easton resident died while swimming in the Delaware River on Wednesday, July 24, according to the Northampton County Coroner's Office.  Louis A. Cosenza's body was recovered from the river in Williams Township, officials said in a release.  He was "using a floatation device" when he went into the water for an unknown reason and didn't resurface, the Coroner's Office said. Conley, 53, of Forks Township, was on a tube on the Delaware River when he went into the water and "did not return to the surface," said the Northampton County Coroner's Office.  Bystanders pulled him to the shore and performed CPR until he could be taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus, authorities said. Animal Cruelty Investigation Launched In Northampton County Police are investigating after a dog was found dead in a cage in Forks Township over the weekend. Officers were called to Frutchey Hill Road and Richmond Road Saturday morning, April 20 for an "animal complaint," Township police said in a release.  A small, brown Yorkie with a green colored bandana was found dead in a cage under a white bedsheet, authorities said. The dog "appeared to have been deceased for an extended period of time," they noted.  Anyone with information is being asked to submit a tip through Crimewatch.

Women Wanted For Car Break-Ins, Fraud In Northampton County: Police Two women are accused of burglarizing cars in Forks Township, police said in a release.  Investigators said the pictured suspects broke into two parked cars at 3601 Sullivan Trail during the early morning hours on Wednesday, March 6.  Police believe they took a purse containing credit cards and an ID, then tried to use them to cash a check at Embassy Bank in Allentown.  Anyone who can identify them is asked to call Officer Nelson of Forks Township Police at 610-252-0377 ext. 512 or email snelson@forkstownship.org.

Woman Assaulted, Robbed Victims In Forks Township: Police Forks Township police are seeking a woman accused of assault and robbery, the department said in a release.  It happened on Saratoga Court, around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, authorities said. Two victims told police they were attacked and robbed of their cell phones before the suspect fled in a car.  The suspect is identified as 30-year-old Taylor Marie Llorens, and police say she may be headed to New York City.  An arrest warrant has been issued and anyone with information is asked to call the department at 610-759-2200.
