Motorcyclist Dies After Slamming Into Bear On I-81 (Update) A 67-year-old man has died after his motorcycle hit a bear on Interstate 81 early on Tuesday, July 25, 2023,  state police say.  Frank J. Castrignano was heading south when the bear wandered onto the highway from the eastern shoulder, authorities said. Police were called to a house near Schoffers Road and Route 562 around 2 p.m. after a man called EMS and threatened authorities, according to WFMZ and the Exeter Police Department. This prompted a shelter-in-place order, which was in effect until 5:10 p.m. when the incident was resolved peacefully, police said.
