Penndale Middle School in Lansdale is dismissing students early on Monday, Jan. 30 after administrators learned of a violent threat, WFMZ reports. A Montgomery County school district employee is accused of fatally hitting an 83-year-old man with his car before fleeing the scene. Nicholas M. Shaw, 26, of Hatfield, is charged with a felony for the hit-and-run that killed Linford Michener on his own property on Oct. 27, said District Attorney Kevin R. Steele in a statement Friday, Jan. 13. A longtime teacher with the North Penn School District died Christmas Day after a battle with COVID-19. Andrew G. Jenkins, 47, was fully vaccinated when he died after a "short bout" with the virus, his obituary says. He had been working as a teacher at Pennfield Middle School in Hatfield for 15 years, according to his obit.
