Arrest Made In Wrightstown Murder Of 72-Year-Old Man: Bucks County DA A suspect is in custody in connection with the 2023 murder of Richard MacFarland, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.  Prosecutors said they will announce more details at a press conference at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6.  MacFarland, 72, was found dead in his home with "multiple stab and slash wounds" last Oct. 7, the Bucks County Coroner's Office has said.   Newtown Township police are also investigating.

Bucks 'Contractor' Scammed Victim of $4,500 For Incomplete Job, Police Say An unlicensed Bucks County contractor turned himself in for scamming an alleged victim of $4,575 for an incomplete home improvement job, authorities said. A Newtown resident told local police that they hired Patrick Niles, 58, of Yardley under the business name of PFN Home Improvement to complete work on their home in September 2020, Newtown Township police said. Know Them? Trio Wanted In $9K NJ, PA Check Fraud Case Authorities are seeking the public's help identifying three individuals wanted in a $9,000 check fraud case spanning Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The case was reported by a local business on Oct. 22, saying the checks were altered, "washed" and cash by three people at TD Bank branches, Newtown Township police said. The trio cashed the checks in Pennington (NJ) and Philadelphia between Oct. 13 and 19, using the names Gregory Lawrence, Michael Cadlett and Mary Plummer, authorities said.
