State troopers are investigating the murder of a suspected New York City gangster more than 25 years ago. Jia Qiang Li, 27, was found murdered on Jan. 2, 1997, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The Chinese national's body was discovered in a plastic garbage can at the bottom of an embankment off Interstate 95 in Lower Makefield Township, investigators say. Bah Humbug: Philly Area 'Grinch' Destroys Family's Holiday Lights
Not every Bucks County resident is feeling the holiday spirit. Police in Lower Makefield Township were called to a home on the 1200 block of Knox Drive just before 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30. There, officers learned a vandal had cut the wires powering the home's decorative Christmas lights, the department said in a release. The 24-year-old man who shot the Yardley Borough police chief Wednesday in Bucks County was apprehended and charged with attempted murder, authorities said Thursday. A man who shot the Yardley Borough police chief Wednesday in Bucks County was apprehended, authorities said. Colin Petroziello, 24, opened fire on Chief Joe Kelly with a shotgun as he responded to a Yardley Commons apartment around 11:30 a.m., according to Lower Makefield Township Police Chief Ken Coluzzi and District Attorney Matt Weintraub. A high school senior and Taco Bell employee in Cumberland County won the national Taco Bell scholarship contest, according to the company’s foundation’s website. Philly Man Wanted On Warrant Nabbed After Busted Using Fake $100 Bill At Wawa
A 28-year-old Philadelphia man was in police custody after using a counterfeit $100 bill at a Bucks County Wawa, authorities said. A warrant for Mervin Rosario's arrest was issued in May 2020, Plumstead Township police said. He was also wanted for similar crimes in Lower Makefield Township, police said. Rosario was taken into custody Thursday with assistance from the Philadelphia Police Department, police said. He was awaiting his preliminary arraignment, which was set for Feb. 22.

Firefighters Battle Bucks County House Fire
Firefighters from across Bucks County worked to knock down a blaze that broke out in a house overnight Wednesday. Just after midnight, the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company was assisted by several area companies to the 400 block of Stony Hill Road in Lower Makefield Township.
