Suspect Robbed 8 Shops Within 1 Mile In Single Month, Philly Detectives Say Investigators in Philadelphia are looking for an alleged serial robber.  The pictured suspect walked into Harry’s Hair and Nail Salon, 5529 N. 5th St., early on Jan. 10 just when the store was opening, city police said in a release.  He told the clerk he had a gun and demanded money, authorities said. Woman Steals Purse From Philadelphia's St. Peter's Cathedral City police are looking for the woman who they say stole the purse of a church employee in Philadelphia last week.  The suspect walked into St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 1019 N. 5th Street, around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, according to the department.  She stole a purse containing the victim's ID and credit cards from an office area, then drove off in a white Jeep, investigators believe. Authorities say the entire theft was caught on video camera.  Anyone who can identify the woman in the video is asked to call PPD at 215-686-8477 or submit a tip anonymously online.

Speeding Car Thief Kills 33-Year-Old Driver In Philadelphia: Police A 33-year-old man died after being struck by a speeding, stolen vehicle Saturday, Jan. 14 in Philadelphia, authorities said. Charges were pending as of Sunday for the driver of the 2020 Kia Optima, that was heading north on 5th Street when it struck a 2016 Toyota Carolla on Lehigh Avenue around 9:50 p.m., a spokesperson for the city's police department said. The Toyota driver was entrapped and pronounced dead at the scene at 10 p.m., while the occupants of the Optima were hospitalized at Temple with minor injuries. The Optima driver was arrested at the emergency room with charges pending. …
