Pennsylvania State Police responded to a report of a "suspicious package" received at a business in Lower Macungie on Monday afternoon, March 25, authorities said in a release.
Troopers were called to Ryder Logistics, 8620 Congdon Hill Drive, after a mailroom employee opened a package that contained "writing and threats" around 1:15 p.m., police said.
The business was evacuated until troopers "determined the suspicious package did not pose a threat," the release says.
Spring Creek Road at Route 100 and Congdon Hill Drive were closed as state police investigated.
The Hazardous Device Explosive Section (HDES), the State Police K-9 Unit, the Troop M Forensic Services Unit, the Fogelsville Patrol Unit, the Allentown Bomb Squad, the Lower Macungie Township Fire Department, Lehigh University K-9s, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted the Fogelsville Criminal Investigation Unit at the scene, troopers added.
