Thrill-Seeking Motorcyclist Dies Following Crash In Lehigh Valley
A 26-year-old motorcyclist has died following a motorcycle crash, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio announced Saturday afternoon. Evyn Hummel of Slatington was involved in a crash with another motor vehicle near 3016 Main St., Washington Township at 1:17 p.m. on Aug. 18, according to Buglio. Evyn was pronounced dead in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest at 2:10 p.m., Buglio explained. His accidental death was caused by "Blunt Force Injuries to Chest and Abdomen due to Motorcycle/Motor Vehicle Collision," Buglio said. The crash is being investigated by th…

Berks Intruder Told Homeowner He Was 'Looking For His Kids,' Troopers Say
When a Berks County resident woke up to an intruder in his home and confronted him, the alleged burglar said he was only "looking for his kids," said state police. It happened in Washington Township early on March 4, troopers wrote in a release. The Lehigh County woman who died in a head-on collision on State Route 873 on Tuesday, Nov. 29 experienced a "medical event" that caused her to lose control of her car, according to officials. County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said in a statement that 71-year-old Rebecca Martinez of Slatington became "unresponsive" on the highway's 7100 block near Washington Township at around noon. A two-alarm fire in Lehigh County claimed the life of a dog and hospitalized an adult, fire officials said. Emergency personnel were dispatched to Glencrest Mobile Home Park in Washington Township just after 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 for a house fire, said the Slatington Volunteer Fire Department on Facebook. Francis Andres, 50 of Slatington, died Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest due to multiple blunt force trauma, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
