Philadelphia Woman Sentenced For Brandishing Handgun In Atlantic City A 23-year-old woman from Philadelphia was sentenced to 270 days in jail on a weapons offense, authorities said. Shania Simon was sentenced Monday, April 17 pending an appeal for possessing a handgun, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Simon originally pleaded guilty on Sept. 1, 2022, and agreed to a recommended sentence of three years in New Jersey State Prison with a one-year period of parole ineligibility, the prosecutor said. Philadelphia Woman, 27, Arrested For Firing Shots In Atlantic City: Police A 27-year-old woman from Philadelphia was arrested for firing a handgun in Atlantic City. On Monday, July 25, at 5:21 p.m, Atlantic City police patrol officers responded to Indiana and Pacific avenues for a report of shots fired.  Police found evidence of gunfire, but did not locate a victim.
