Can't Dim The Light In Lancaster: Hundreds Show Up For Menorah Lighting After Vandalism The bright lights of Hanukkah were not dimmed this year in Lancaster despite apparent efforts by some to do so. Hundreds of people turned out Sunday night in support of Lancaster's Jewish community after the menorah in the downtown district was vandalized.  Designed by Mark Joshua Lewin, the custom built, steel menorah weighs nearly 460 pounds and was placed in Penn Square on Friday, Nov. 26, according to Lancaster Online and the Lancaster City Alliance.
