Montco Copper Thieves Used Bolt Cutters In Peco Station Break-In, Troopers Say State police in Montgomery County are investigating a burglary at a PECO substation on May 8.  Two masked men used bolt cutters to gain entry to the substation at 444 Gravel Pike in Perkiomen, troopers said.  They then stole copper wiring from the loading dock, according to investigators.  Suspect one was 5-foot-11 and about 180 pounds with an average build, police said. Would-Be Burglars Caught Hiding In HVAC Unit On Roof: Upper Merion PD A pair of attempted burglars were found hiding in a roof HVAC unit after a 90-minute search at an industrial building in Upper Merion, township police said.  It happened at the old Philadelphia Inquirer printing plant at 800 River Road on Monday, Oct. 16, authorities said.  A witness saw a man on the roof just before 10 a.m. and called police, but the man spotted the witness fled across the roof, according to the department.  Arriving police said they found signs of a break-in as well as tools and equipment "commonly used (...) to steal copper." 'Get Money Squad' Stole $250K In Wire From Philly Area Utility Poles: DA Authorities in Bucks County say they have taken down a criminal group that stole more than $250,000 in copper wiring from area utility poles.  Eight members of the so-called "Get Money Squad" are in police custody and a ninth is sought, said District Attorney Matthew Weintraub's office.  Investigators say the organization targeted Verizon poles in Makefield, Warminster, Bensalem, and Bristol.  The crew would "case" poles throughout lower Bucks, climb up them when the coast was clear, and "lop off" the wires, prosecutors said.
