Iris Mercado Dies After February Crash In Lehigh County: PSP

A driver who was ejected from her vehicle in a crash on Feb. 3 has died from her injuries, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office on Monday, April 1.

Iris Crystal Mercado, 37, died from multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner said in a release. Her manner of death was accidental.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of Route 22 South Whitehall on the night of Feb. 3, officials said.

State police have said Mercado lost control of her Ford Focus and struck an embankment before the car rolled over and she was ejected.
