Fire At Lancaster County High School Woodshop Forces Classes Online For Days
A fire at a high school wood shop forced the district to switch to online or remote learning for a minimum of two days, officials announced on Tuesday morning. Intially fire crews were called to Maheim Tonwship High School for a report of smoke showing at 5:18 p.m. on Monday, April 1, officials explained. The fire was found fire in a dust collector on the exterior of the high school off the wood shop. Teachers at a Philadelphia high school were protesting a shift to remote learning in an attempt to reduce the rising spread of COVID-19 after a student died of complications from the virus, according to media outlets and family. Prince George's County Public Schools will move fully to remote learning through Jan. 18, and Maryland Governor Larry Hogan made it known: He's not for it. FBI Investigating Threats Toward 15 PA School Districts Made On Snapchat
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating after fifteen school districts were threatened and thirteen schools have temporarily closed due to threats made on Snapchat, according to school officials. The threats were first made on Snapchat and the echoed on other social media outlets on Monday, Nov. 29, according to school administrators in the Pittsburgh area.
