PA Driver On Fentanyl Killed Mom, Injured Child In Head-On Christmas Day Crash, Police Say A 24-year-old man high on marijuana and fentanyl caused a head-on crash killing a mom and injuring her child on Christmas Day, Manheim Township police announced on Friday, April 5.  Steven Joel Berrios Maldonado was driving 27-year-old Karina Cruz-Camuy and her sons in a Gray Volkswagon Jetta while high on drugs, the police explained citing a blood test he took at the hospital.  Investigators determined Maldonado was going a minimum of 50.28 miles per hour in the marked 35 MPH zone on Wabank Road near Rabbit Hill Lane in Lancaster Township, when he he left the westbound …

Mom Killed, Child Hospitalized In Lancaster Christmas Day Crash: Authorities A 27-year-old mom has died following a three-vehicle crash on Christmas Day, the Lancaster County Coroner's office announced the following afternoon.  Karina Cruz-Camuy died at 3:20 p.m. at the scene of the crash on Wabank Road near Rabbit Hill Lane in Lancaster Township, Deputy Chief Coroner Eric Bieber detailed in the release.  The crash happened at 1:03 p.m. on Dec. 25, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications.  The coroner was called to the scene at 3:08 p.m. Cruz was found ejected from the front passenger seat with "significant trauma," Bieber said.
