Two people were injured in a crash that caused hours-long delays and detours on I-78 in Lehigh County, authorities have confirmed. A tractor-trailer traveling in the westbound lanes struck a stationary motorcycle and its rider on the side of the road at mile marker 49.9 in Upper Macungie around 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, Pennsylvania State Police said. A Berks County man was triple the legal limit when he struck and killed a 26-year-old man in Lehigh County earlier this year, authorities said. Jonathan A. Richards, 40, of Shillington, is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter, DUI, and related offenses. Authorities ID Gunman, Victim Both Dead In Lehigh Valley Shooting Spree
Authorities have identified two people killed in a Lehigh Valley shooting spree Wednesday morning, one of them being the gunman himself. Za Uk Lian, of South Whitehall Township, shot a vehicle on Route 22, a Jeep driver behind an Upper Macungie Wawa and then a 31-year-old tractor trailer driver before turning the gun on himself, according to Lehigh County officials. Ten victims were hospitalized in a chain-reaction crash Saturday in Upper Macungie, authorities said. A 27-year-old Connecticut man behind the wheel of a tractor trailer apparently failed to stop for a line of cars around 2:15 p.m. on Hamilton Boulevard right near Newtown Road, WFMZ reports.
