Are you the big winner? A record-setting Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket worth $3,076,096.50 was sold in Montgomery County. The jackpot-winning Cash 5 with Quick Cash ticket for the Friday, Aug. 12 drawing was sold at Souderton Food Mart on East Broad Street in Souderton, state lottery officials said. The winning numbers were 8-24-31-32-33. This was the largest Cash 5 with Quick Cash jackpot in PA Lottery history. PA Mennonites Vote To Allow Pastors To Marry LGBTQ Members
Pride Month kicked off with the announcement that members of the Mennonite Church USA gathered and voted to make some serious changes to the Church's stance on the LGBTQ community members, according to a release by the Church. The group voted on the "Resolution for Repentance and Transformation,” among several other changes at an annual conference held in Kansas, Missouri held May 27-30, according to the church's release on June 1. Tornados touched down in the Philadelphia region Wednesday evening, downing trees and destroying houses along the way. As the remnants of Hurricane Ida moved in on the region many residents captured their surroundings on social media. 2 Tornadoes Touched Down In Pennsylvania, Possible Twister Eyed In Morris County, NWS Says
Two tornadoes have been confirmed as touching down in parts of Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service said. An EF-1 tornado was confirmed in Bucks and Montgomery Counties early Thursday. Another tornado touched down Wednesday night in Berks County, according to the NWS office in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Air Force Vet, Correctional Officer Jeremy Callender Of Schwenksville Dies, 35
Air Force veteran and correctional officer Jeremy Callender of Schwenksville died on April 3. He was 35 years old. Born in Sellersville, Callender graduated from Souderton Area High School in 2003, and graduated from American Military University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, according to his obituary. Callender worked in logistics with the United States Air Force for 11 years, and later worked at the Bureau of Corrections in Graterford, his memorial says.
