High Winds Leave Thousands Without Power In Central PA Almost 4,000 PPL customers are without power in Central Pennsylvania following a windy weekend.  As of 10 a.m. on Monday, April 15, the majority of outages were approximately as follows, according to the outage map: Lockhaven 900. Bloomsburg 704. Selinsgrove 658. Mark Hackman Killed Himself In House Fire He Set: Coroner The cause of death has been released for a man found dead after a "domestic incident" turned standoff ending with a house fire, the Lancaster County Coroner explained. Mark D. Hackman, 53, of 6294 High Street in East Petersburg Borough, died by a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, and the manner was suicide, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber. Power Knocked Out When Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole In Lititz: Police (Photos) Power should be restored by 5:30 p.m. after a SUV plowed into a utility pole in Lititz on April 4, 2023.  The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle accident with injuries in the 400 bock of Owl Hill Road Tuesday afternoon.  The driver left the road way for an unknown reason and struck a PPL power pole.  The driver was hurt, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.  PPL is in the area making repairs.  The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The tractor-trailer pulled down utility lines and poles, the release explains. Power has been restored to the area as of 3 p.m. as crews remain on the scene. High winds appear to be to blame for the outages, but Met-Ed and PPL did not immediately confirm when Daily Voice contacted them on Monday afternoon. Some areas only lost power for a few seconds to approximately 30 minutes, but others are still in the dark. Photos: NY Truck Hauling 3 Cars Overturns, Hits Utility Pole A truck from NY that was hauling three cars overturned in Northern Lancaster on Thursday night, authorities said. Police were called to the  200 block of Auction Road around 9:30 p.m. The truck had been traveling westbound when it overturned, striking both the guardrail and a PP&L utility pole, according to police. The crash caused damage to the truck and its trailer as well as all three cars it was hauling -- but luckily the driver, Daniel Tineo of New York, was unharmed.
