One man has died and four other people — including an infant —were injured in a residential fire early Wednesday morning, April 3, authorities told Daily Voice. Firefighters were called to the 1900 block of Dennie Street around 2:15 a.m., a Philadelphia Fire Department spokesperson said. An elderly couple killed when their home exploded in Western Pennsylvania on Tuesday has been identified, officials announced. David Mitchell Jr. 89 and his 87-year-old wife Helen Mitchell died in the blast in the 1400 block of Riverview Road in Crescent Township, Allegheny County, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner. The was felt about a mile away just before 9 a.m. on March 12, officials told the press at a news conference at 11:30 a.m. that day. North Philadelphia Fires Kill Woman, Injures Firefighter
One woman is dead and a Philadelphia firefighter is hurt after a pair of fires on Tuesday, Dec. 19, and early Wednesday, Dec. 20, officials told Daily Voice. The first blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 800 block of West Tioga Street in Franklinville, a Fire Department spokesperson said.
