Water Rescue Saves Duo Trapped In Cocalico Creek Flooding A pair was rescued from a car trapped in flood waters in Ephrata on Wednesday, fire officials announced the following morning.  The water rescue happened on West Mohler Church Road along Cocalico Creek, sometime in the early evening of April 3, according to the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company. Crews with the company were able to get the duo out of the vehicle with no injuries reported. "No matter the time of day or weather conditions, our volunteers are always here to answer your call for help," the fire company concluded its release.

Sedan Fire Closed US Rt 222 In Central Pennsylvania: Officials (Photos) A third vehicle fire was reported on a major highway in Central Pennsylvania on Thursday morning. A four-door sedan caught fire on Route 222 North shortly before 8 a.m. on Dec. 14, according to a release by West Earl Fire Station 29. Volunteer firefighters took Engine 29-1 to the and quickly extinguished the fire, officials with the station explained. Crash On US 222 Causing Delays In Ephrata (Developing) A multi-vehicle crash is causing major delays on US 222 in Ephrata, authorities say.  A van hauling a trailer flipped over by mile marker 39.4 on US 222 northbound near Peach Road, West Earl Township just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications.
