Teenager Dies At Scene Of Motorcycle Crash, Pennsylvania State Police Say

A teenager died at the scene of a central Pennsylvania motorcycle crash on Saturday, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police.

The male motorcyclist, 16, of Mohnton, died near the 2100 block of Main Street in Caernarvon Township, Lancaster County around on Saturday at 7:57 a.m., according to the release.

The teenager was driving a 2003 Yamaha R1/R6 eastbound at a high rate of speed, when he lost control and exited the roadway, according to the police.

The motorcycle first struck a mailbox and then utility pole-- which is where the driver fell off and was found deceased by officials.

The bike traveled an additional 100 feet on the grass before hitting a shrub, according to police.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the cause, according to the release.
