York County Man, 55, Dies In Vehicle Fire: Police
Authorities are investigating a deadly vehicle fire in Manchester Township. Northern York Regional police were called to the 2400 block of Pin Oak Drive around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, May 23. They arrived to find a white 1994 GMC Safari minivan fully engulfed in flames. York Area United Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire and 55-year-old Thomas Rooney was found dead in the van, police said. No one else was injured. Sedan Fire Closed US Rt 222 In Ephrata: Officials (

A third vehicle fire was reported on a major highway in Central Pennsylvania on Thursday morning. A four-door sedan caught fire on Route 222 North shortly before 8 a.m. on Dec. 14, according to a release by West Earl Fire Station 29. Volunteer firefighters took Engine 29-1 to the and quickly extinguished the fire, officials with the station explained. The vehicle fire briefly closed the roadway just south of the Ephrata Exit. At least two vehicles caught fire on Interstate 81 in Central Pennsylvania on Thursday morning. The incident appears to have started when a tractor-trailer attempted to pull on the right shoulder on I-81 near Exit 37: Newville in Penn Township around 6:15 a.m. on Dec. 14, PennDOT spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice. A tractor trailer fire closed all lanes of Interstate 81 in Dauphin County Tuesday night, Sept. 5. The incident happened on the northbound side at mile post 81 in Grantville (East Hanover). Four Dogs In Van On Fire Driven To Fire Station In New Cumberland, Police Say
Fire department typically goes to a fire, but this time the fire came to the station, according to New Cumberland police. A vehicle ablaze barreled towards the station on Friday, March 31, 2023, around 12:11 p.m., the police explained in the release. A man died at the scene of a fiery crash on Tuesday, authorities say. The unidentified man veered off the 4900 block of East Berlin Road in Paradise Township losing control on Dec. 20, around 8:45 p.m., according to a release the following morning by the York County coroner.
