Mennonite Toddler ID'd After Fatal Train Strike In Walnut Bottom A 15-months and 14-days-old boy has been identified after being struck by a Norfolk Southen Train on Thursday. Landis Sensenig Newswanger was hit by a Norfolk Southern train running along the tracks in his backyard in the 400 block of West Main Street, South Newton Township, Cumberland County at 10:04 a.m. on Dec. 7, according to state police and later identified in his obituary.   Landis was taken to Carlisle Hospital where they were pronounced dead, Cumberland County Coroner Charles Hall told Daily Voice.  His autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12, Hall said. …

Driver Struck By Train, Pushed 200 Feet, Police In Pennsylvania Say A 29-year-old man was driving a car that stopped train tracks and ending up getting pushed and rolled off the tracks, police announced on Wednesda night.  Kaden Stetler of Horseshoe Road in Lancaster was driving a silver 2009 Ford Edge that stopped on the tracks in the 300 block of Willow Road for an unknown reason shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 6, according to East Lampeter Township police.  A Norfolk Southern train struck Steltler's Ford on the passenger side – pushing it approximately 200 feet – then the car "dislodged" and rolled off of the tracks, the police said.  …

Norfolk Southern Train Hits Car In Central PA: Authorities A car was struck by a Norfolk Southern train in Hershey on Wednesday morning, authorities say.  The collision happened on East Derry Road just after 3:30 a.m. on July 19, 2023.  At 7:21 a.m., Derry Township police announced that the road will remain closed for about three to four hours, and the public should find alternative routes.  No injuries were reported, according to Dauphin County emergency dispatch. Daily Voice has reached out to Norfolk Southern for comment and has yet to hear back as of 10:45 a.m.
