David 'Davey' Newell Jr., 42, Of Orrstown Killed In Crash
David "Davey" Newell Jr., 42, of Orrstown was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Sunday, Sept. 1, according to PSP.
The crash happened on Orrstown Road near Blind Lane in Southampton Township at 10:52 p.m., state police detailed in the release. Newell was riding
"at a high rate of speed" around a curve when he left his lane, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck the guide rail, the police said.
That's when Newell fell off of his bike and struck the guide rail post as his motorcycle rode off into a nearby field, police explained.

A 26-year-old motorcyclist from Mount Pocono was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Monroe County, authorities said.
The fatal crash occurred at about 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 on State Route 611 at Cayuga Drive in Coolbaugh Township. Bystanders reported a vehicle struck a motorcycle and fled the scene, according to Pocono Mountain Regional Police.

A 32-year-old Pennsylvania man has been charged after a police pursuit led to the death of a motorcyclist, a Vietnam War veteran, in Warren County on Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said.
At 10:19 a.m., a New Jersey State Trooper began following an SUV on Route 80 eastbound and initiated a traffic stop, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said.
The driver of the SUV, Sean Mamakas, a Kempton, PA resident, continued traveling eastbound, exiting the interstate at Exit 12 and headed toward County Road 521 southbound in Hope Township, authorities said.

A 57-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash along Interstate 81 on Saturday, Aug. 10, Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg announced the following day.
Carl L. Sheriff Jr., of Chambersburg, was riding a 2015 Victory Motorcycle on the off-ramp from I-81 South to Exit 14 when he side-swiped a relative's 2022 purple Polaris Slingshot around 8:24 p.m. Trooper Ethen Everetts detailed in the release.
