Hershey Woman Sets Fire To Porch In Hummlestown, Police Say A 49-year-old Hershey woman was caught burning down someone's porch in Hummelstown, police announced Wednesday, Sept. 27.  Tiffany Kay Look was arrested the evening after a patrol officer saw a front porch on fire in the 500 block of West Second Street at 12:58 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. Another officer joined the patrol officer and together they "were able to extinguish the flames preventing the fire from spreading into the house," as stated in the release.  Officers soon figured out that this fire was an act of arson and that gasoline was the accelerator used. Gymnast With '1K Watt Smile' Dies In Central PA, Friends Say A wife, gymnast, and friend has died due to an illness her husband announced shortly after her passing.  Molly E. Athorn, 33, of Palmyra "had many health issues" that worsened and sent her to a local emergency room on Thursday, Sept. 7., 2023, her husband Nate explained in a Facebook post.   She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed around 5 p.m., he explained.  Molly was born in Hershey on Aug. 29, 1990, and was raised in Hummelstown, according to her obituary.  As a girl, she was a good friend to all who knew her and made another girl's childhood "bright during dark times," one …

Shed Fire Kills Hummelstown Man: Officials A shed fire left a Hummelstown man on Friday.  Douglas Sweigart, 62, of Hummelstown, East Hanover Township was pronounced dead at the scene of a shed fire at 755 Laudermilch Road, Hummelstown, Dauphin Community Communications Director told Daily Voice. Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown with be dismissed early after "flying ants" apparently swarmed the school's cafeteria, according to a Facebook post by school officials around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023.  The post reads in part: "ALERT - Lower Dauphin High School will DISMISS today at 10:30 am on Friday, May 12, due to flying ants in the high school cafeteria which will prevent us from having lunch." All other schools will remain in session and be dismissed at regular times.

44-Year-Old Man Dies In Fiery Crash In Central PA, Police Say After 10 hours of road closures and down power lines, police revealed the cause— a deadly single-vehicle crash into a tree. Eric Wetherbee, 44, of Hummelstown, lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason and crashed into a tree on Wood Road, between Waltonville and Middletown roads on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 2:06 a.m., the Derry Township Police detailed in a release that afternoon.
