An evacuation is over after a business received a bomb threat Friday morning, East Hempfield police announced around 11 a.m. Officers were called to Shanks Extracts located at 350 Richardson Drive at 6:25 a.m. on Jan. 26. An evacuation is over after a gas leak in Swatara Township, authorities told Daily Voice. People in the homes within a 300-foot radius of the 500 block of Highland Street had been evacuated due to the leak, emergency dispatchers told Daily Voice. A gas line was struck by a construction crew in the area shortly after 11 a.m., dispatchers said. No one was transported, according to emergency dispatchers. An unexploded device— thought to be from WWII— was found in a residential area causing the evacuation of several central Pennsylvania homes, authorities say.
