Mark A. Cramer Jr. of Shippensburg lost control of his 2020 Harley-Davidson Road-Glide Limited on Interstate 81 near mile marker 6.7 in Antrim Township around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, PSP Chambersburg Trooper Bret Smalt detailed in the release.
Mark's bike left the roadway, entering the grass median, but he became separated from his Harley-Davidson — the bike and Mark ended up about 40 feet apart — with Cramer lying on the highway, according to Trooper Smalt.
"Preliminary evidence suggests [he] was struck by a tractor-trailer," Smalt wrote in the release. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mark was a class of 2009 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School where he played varsity football and baseball according to his MaxPreps profile and obituary.
He went on to work as an arborist and was a lead foreman sports turf technician at Quality Turf, as explained in his obituary.
He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the PA Striped Bass Association fishing team, Uncontrolled Choas. He was also a member of the Hub City Club in Shippensburg, according to his obituary. In addition to sports and fishing, Mark enjoyed camping, riding his Harley, and smoking or grilling on his grill master.
He is survived by his parents, wife, two children, two brothers, and extended family.
"A celebration of life and tribute ride in Mark’s honor will be held at a later date and time," as stated in his obituary.
