Rebecca Shingleton, 65, of the 300 block of Stonewood Road in Springettsbury Township, was driving west along the 3200 block of East Market Street when she lost control of her car on Monday around 1:24 p.m., according to the release.

Shingleton crashed into the wall, then crossed a median and collided head-on with a vehicle in the eastbound lane, the release states.

The events caused multi-vehicles to crash but the exact number of vehicles involved and the condition of any other drivers or passengers is unknown.

Shingleton was the sole occupant of her vehicle at the time of the crash, according to the release.

It is thought Shingleton may have had a medical event leading up to the crash, according to the coroner.

She was pronounced dead from "multiple blunt force trauma" due to "complications related to a vehicle crash" while at WellSpan York Hospital at 3:41 p.m., according to a coroner’s office report.

There will not be an autopsy, but a routine toxicology test was performed at the hospital, the release states.

Springettsbury Township police continue to investigate the crash.
