Authorities advise residents to adjust their travel routes after heavy rains flooded parts of greater Philadelphia Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, Jan. 9 and 10.
Flood and coastal flood warnings remain in effect Wednesday for Philadelphia and parts of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Lehigh, and Northampton counties, according to meteorologists at the National Weather Service.

David Michael Cox Charged With Carjacking In Parkesburg: PD
A West Chester man is accused of hitting a driver in the head with a firearm before stealing their car over the holiday weekend, say Parkesburg police.
David Michael Cox, 41, is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and related counts, the department wrote in a release.
Authorities said the theft happened at the 100 block of Main Street around 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23. Investigators claimed Cox ditched the car in West Whiteland, where it was later recovered.

A six-hour standoff with police Monday led to the arrest of an Exton man who shot at officers, authorities said.
Christopher Smith, 47, has been charged with multiple counts of attempted homicide, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, and related offenses, the Chester County District Attorney's Office said in a Wednesday news release.
He was being uncooperative with West Whiteland police, who arrived at the home on the unit block of Buttonwood Drive around 4:30 p.m. to serve a search warrant, police said.

West Whiteland PD Searching For Contractor Accused Of Scamming Victim Of $10,500
West Whiteland police are searching for a contractor who they say failed to complete $10,500 of home improvement work.
A township resident told police that they hired George M. Brinton, 55, to complete work on their home on Dec. 1, 2020, Det. Scott Pezick told Daily Voice.
Brinton was paid a series of eight checks for the project, totaling $25,845, but has yet to complete $10,500 of work since Jan. 31, 2021, Pezick said.
The victim has been unable to reach Brinton for two weeks, to which she reported to police, Pezick said.

DUI Driver Crashes Stolen Car In West Whiteland Hit-Run, Police Say
A Chester County man was DUI when he rear-ended another vehicle in a stolen car Monday, authorities said.
Carlos Sanchez, 46, fled the scene of the hit and run on East Lincoln Highway and Springdale Drive around 8:30 a.m., in a car believed to be stolen out of Lancaster County, West Whiteland Det. Scott Pezick said.
Sanchez was taken into police custody and the stolen 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was returned to the owner later that day, Pezick told Daily Voice.
