Two men are accused of homicide by vehicle after authorities say they killed a woman while street racing in Hatfield last year, according to a release from the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. A high-speed race between two young men ended with one dead and the other charged with homicide by vehicle, according to an update by police issued on Friday, Dec. 29. Brandon Caleb Gentile, 20, of Coatesville, has had a slew of charges leveled against him in connection with the crash that left 22-year-old Thomas "Tom" Austin Hartenstine, of Manor Township, Lancaster dead on June 4. A Norristown woman is in police custody after authorities say she caused a crash that killed one person and injured six more while street racing through the middle of the city. Twenty-year-old Ashley Jones is charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, and related counts, said the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. A man in his 40s was struck and killed by a speeding Dodge Charger involved in a street race in Philadelphia, authorities said. Two suspects in the hit-and-run crash were later arrested in Pennsauken, NJ, police in Philadelphia said. The pedestrian, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22 by a medic.
