All Clear: Philly Water Safe To Drink And Unimpacted By Spill, Mayor Says Four days after a chemical spill into the Delaware River in Bucks County, municipal officials in Philadelphia say the city's tap water was unaffected.  Philly's tap water remains safe to drink and use, said Mayor Jim Kenney in an address late on Tuesday, March 28. Manayunk Water Main Break Floods Philly Streets A water main break in Philadelphia's Manayunk section caused the streets to flood early on Wednesday, Dec. 21, municipal officials say.  The break occurred on the 100 block of Conarroe Street at about 8 a.m., Water Department representatives told Daily Voice. Emergency crews shut down an 8-inch main after assessing the scene, they added.  Properties in the "immediate area" might be without water as crews continue to fix the break, the department said.
