Four inches of snow at most was expected in the second snow storm of the week in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. But much more fell. Cold Case: Nephew Found Lehigh Valley Woman Murdered In Her Home
Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public's help to find Rose Josephine Hnath's killer. The 78-year-old was found murdered on the floor of her North Whitehall home on Jan. 21, 1989, troopers said. Her nephew had gone over to check on her around 7:30 p.m. after she was uncharacteristically absent from a church service that morning, according to a 2011 Allentown Morning Call report. Troopers Seek Accused Child Sex Abuser With Ties To Lehigh Valley
State police are looking for Edward J. Massey Jr. Troopers said the 49-year-old is wanted on charges of indecent assault on a person under 13, felony corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of a child. According to court records, the charges were filed in August 2017. Police said Massey is known to frequent Northampton and Monroe counties and has ties to a business in Florida. A double shooting that wounded a woman and left a man dead has been deemed an attempted murder-suicide, Pennsylvania State Police said. Burt Robert Schutt, 53, of Northampton, is believed to have shot his 51-year-old ex-girlfriend, Kat Gagliardi, before turning the gun on himself Saturday, Sept. 30, PSP said. Memorial Day travel and rising oil costs have caused the price of gas in Pennsylvania to rise to record levels with no relief in sight for motorists. Man Gunned Down In Allentown Hours Before New Year
A 25-year-old man died in an Allentown shooting hours before the new year, authorities said. Jermel Johnson, of Northampton, was shot at the intersection of 9th and Gordon Streets around 1 p.m., the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said. He was pronounced dead on Friday, Dec. 31, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. His death was being investigated by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the District Attorney of Lehigh County.

Woman, 80, Dies In Lehigh Valley Crash
An 80-year-old woman died at the hospital following a Wednesday afternoon crash in the Lehigh Valley area, authorities said. Brenda Kohler of Northampton was driving on the 500 block of Cherryville Road in Lehigh Township when she was struck by another vehicle just after 4:30 p.m., according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. Kohler was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg and pronounced dead around 5:25 p.m., authorities said.
