Fellow Inmate Charged For Dad's Death In Pennsylvania Prison The cause of death of a Pennsylvania father and inmate has been revealed and new charges have been filed, the Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo announced on Tuesday.  Michael Howard Butler II, 37 of Gratz, died following a "medical emergency" in his bunk in the Dauphin County Prison at 10:22 p.m. on Jan. 17, 2024, as Daily Voice previously reported.  It is now known that the emergency was caused by a fentanyl overdose from what Richard Leonard Weikel thought was heroin which he had smuggled into the prison in his shoe, the DA explained in the release on March 26.&n…

Dad Dies In Dauphin County Prison A dad awaiting his preliminary hearing on newly-filed charges died in Dauphin County prison Thursday, Jan. 18, according to court records officials. Michael Howard Butler II had been in and out of prisons in four counties since 2009, according to his criminal record. Tragically, for those who loved him, this time in prison was his last.  A "medical emergency" was called in the A Block dayroom after Butler was "found unresponsive, lying on his back, in his bunk" at 9:38 p.m. on Wednesday.
