A Spring City man is charged with more than 500 counts in two separate cases of alleged forgery, identity theft, and related offenses, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
Joshua Hartmann, 41, stole mail from residents in Schuylkill Township, Phoenixville, Malvern, Tredyffrin, Upper Providence, and Lower Providence for months, prosecutors claim.
Authorities say he used the victims' information to change their addresses on file with government agencies, then stole their identities and opened credit cards in their names.

A Sharon Hill police officer is accused of multiple instances of rape and sexual assault over a period of years, according to officials.
Tyler Humphreys, 21, of Malvern, is charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and related offenses in Chester County, said the District Attorney's Office.
The charges stem from incidents that prosecutors say took place from 2014 to 2018 and in late 2022, officials wrote in a release.

A Chester County drug dealer will face jailtime after prosecutors say he bought hundreds of fake prescription pills filled with fentanyl.
Ryan Menkins, 37, of Malvern, pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday, Nov. 14, said US Attorney Jacqueline Romero in a statement.
In May 2018, Menkins bought 900 pills of cyclopropyl fentanyl — a "dangerous fentanyl analogue" and Schedule I drug, say investigators — for $5,600 from Kevin Swing of West Chester, according to the statement.

River McNair Johnson of Malvern, PA died on June 28, 2021. He was 24.
Born in Paoli, PA, Johnson was an "accomplished athlete," and the oldest son of eight siblings, his obituary says.
