A local business owner and great-grandfather was killed in a crash, and a California trucker has been requested to be charged in connection with his death, Pennsylvania State Police told Daily Voice on Tuesday, March 5.
Ira L. Mast, 74 of Mystertown, was driving a 2015 GMC Canyon south on Hilltop Road/PA Route 645 when he fatally struck a 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Hugo Medranoespinal, 41 of Barstow, California, Trooper Ryan Shuetrumpf detailed in a PSP release on Feb. 29.

Three years after a Mysterstown mom died in a crash, the driver who caused it has been convicted, the Lebanon County District Attorney's Office announced on Feb. 21.
"On January 16, 2021, Melissa Morrissey was killed as a result of the drunken, reckless behavior of Vincent Sosnowski," DA Pier Hess Graf states in the release.
