Springsteen Retraces His Heritage, Leads Irish Pub Patrons In Song Springsteen Retraces His Heritage, Leads Irish Pub Patrons In Song
Springsteen Retraces His Heritage, Leads Irish Pub Patrons In Song Bruce Springsteen wasn't about to play three sold-out nights in Dublin without retracing his heritage. He played tourist this week, visiting the church in Ireland where great-great-great-relatives were married, christened and more, while conjuring their ancestral spirits. He also dropped in on a fellow living musical legend. Bruce also had a mighty craic at a local pub, leading an impromptu singalong of (what else?) "My Hometown." "You guys are all fired in the E Street Band, I'm hiring these people!" he told his new friends to raucous laughs at The Burrow in Rathangan. The Boss then tri…

Springsteen Tickets Going For Less Than A Soda At Some Venues Trouble in the heartland: That darkness on the edge of town might just be empty seats during Bruce Springsteen's current tour. Ticket prices for Springsteen's Tuesday night Feb. 21 show with the E Street Band in Tulsa, Oklahoma, dropped as low as $6 each -- with fees -- as resellers found themselves forced to dump. His Valentine's Day shindig at the Toyota Center in Houston saw hundreds of tickets left at as little as 10 bucks and hundreds more between $25 and a C-note days before the big night. A portent of things to come? Good question. Okies who scouted Ticketmaster for seats found the…

NJ Mom Who Produced 'Little Steven's Underground Garage' Passes At 36 TRIBUTE: When loved ones say their final goodbyes to Jenna Antonacci of Montvale on Friday, they will no doubt recall how much she loved -- and at one time lived -- music. Antonacci had worked in her mid- to late-20s as a producer for the wildly popular "Little Steven's Underground Garage," created by longtime E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt on Sirius XM. She immersed herself in communicating with bands, managers and labels to organize appearances, among other tasks, and worked directly on the program hosted by Andrew Loog Oldham, the former manager and producer for the Rolling St…

Bruce, Patti (Not That One) Washed Out At NYC 'Homecoming' Concert In Central Park Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith had a treat planned for the 60,000 or so attendees and countless TV viewers worldwide of the “We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert” in Central Park. Barry Manilow was singing “Can’t Smile Without You” when a member of the stage crew rushed over and gave his bandmates the “cut it” sign. Punk Godmother Patti Smith, Alex Hamilton, Ron Jaworski Among NJ Hall Of Fame Inductees Patti Smith didn’t know what to expect when she popped in the cassette that Bruce Springsteen had given her. Soon after, the godmother of punk poetry wrote a simple love song, punctuated by a big Boss arena-rock chorus. “Because the Night” became a late ‘70s anthem of sorts, one that introduced many listeners to Patricia Lee Smith – who, like Springsteen, lived in the Garden State. Smith, 74, will be among two dozen new inductees to the New Jersey Hall of Fame, it was announced Tuesday. Among those joining Smith -- the former Pitman resident and Deptford High School graduate -- will be he…

Zero Proof: Feds Drop DWI, Reckless Charges Against Springsteen, Judge Orders $500 Fine A U.S. park ranger was wrong in charging Bruce Springsteen with DWI and reckless driving at Sandy Hook, a federal magistrate ruled following a highly-attended Zoom-conferenced hearing. Federal authorities dropped the first two charges against Springsteen due to a lack of sufficient evidence. The 71-year-old rocker did plead guilty to a law that took effect only last year -- for drinking alcohol on federal property at Sandy Hook – and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus $40 court costs by U.S. Magistrate Judge Anthony R. Mautone. Asked when he could cough up the cash, Springsteen smil…
