Four former workers at a Kennet Square company wrote phony checks for over a year to steal more than $130,000 from their ex-boss, according to borough police. Authorities said they were contacted by a West State Street business in April about fraudulent bank activity. The owner told investigators that some employees were previously given permission to write checks for business-related purposes. Escaped Missouri Inmate Captured By Marshals In Chester County
Authorities have arrested an escaped inmate in Chester County for the second time this month. Mario Che-Tiul was taken into custody by US Marshals on Gap Newport Pike in Avondale on Thursday, Sept. 21, according to the Barry County, Missouri Sheriff's Office. Che-Tiul, 34, escaped from a prison in the county after assaulting two corrections officers on June 1, the Sheriff's Office previously said. A suspected serial burglar robbed a Berks County hardware store in what police say is his 15th theft from area retailers. It happened on Thursday, Feb. 16 at around 1 a.m., Caernarvon Township police said in a statement. The suspect pulled into the Lowe's at 340 Crossings Blvd., walked behind the store, and stole a Craftsman Zero Turn Lawn Mower, they continued. A total of 17 men have been arrested for luring children in Atlantic City with help from concerned citizens who bust child predators online. A 60-year-old former township supervisor in the Philadelphia suburbs sexually abused a young girl over the course of four years, authorities said. Warren Reynolds, of Avondale, was charged with multiple counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and other related offenses, Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said. An Avondale man was arrested last week for reportedly selling $22,000 worth of methamphetamine, authorities said. Darinel Lucas-Gomez, 28, sold methamphetamine on two occasions, an eighth of an ounce on March 29 and six and a half ounces on March 30, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s office.
