Samantha Crich and her daughter, Elizabeth, were coming home from a doctor's visit when they were struck by an out-of-control tractor trailer around 11 a.m., according to a GoFundMe campaign and Pennsylvania State Police. 3 Dead In 5-Vehicle Crash On Route 33: State Police Three people were killed in a crash that began with an out-of-control tractor trailer on Route 33 in Monroe County Wednesday, March 1, Pennsylvania State Police said. The southbound trailer lost control and ended up in the northbound lanes, where it struck another tractor trailer and three other vehicles head-on, around 11 a.m. near the Saylorsburg exit, police said in a statement. A driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of another vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital.  The highway was closed for several hours.

Around 12:30 a.m., the family was driving west on Bridge Street, attempting to turn onto the I-95 ramp, when a tractor-trailer crashed into the car, according to the news outlet. One of the daughters was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while the other daughter and her mother were treated for minor injuries, the outlet says. When crews arrived, they confirmed that a tractor-trailer hauling gas cylinders hit several parked cars in the 1200 block of Schuylkill Avenue, according to the Reading Fire Department.
