As heavy rain moves out of Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service has extended flood watches and wind advisories for several Pennsylvania counties. What began on Tuesday is expected to continue, this means high wind speeds are expected to blow at 20 to 25 mph in the advisory zones. The stronger wind gusts could blow down tree limbs and some power lines. Scattered power outages are possible, according to NWS. Parts of the region will be shoveling out of several inches of snow from the weekend when another strong storm system moves in, forecasters are saying. Fiery Crash Knocks Out Power In Lower Bucks County
A car accident in Feasterville ended in a fiery wreck and caused some area residents to lose power late on Monday, Sept. 25, according to authorities. The Feasterville Fire Company responded to a crash on Philmont Avenue around 9:30 p.m., officials said. The driver had escaped the car by the time first responders arrived, but the wreckage was in flames, FFC said. Two hose lines and firefighting foam were used to knock down the fire. The main threat from a significant storm on track for the region will be dangerous wind gusts that could cause power outages. The system will move in from the Midwest on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Thousands Without Power In Lehigh Valley Dump Truck Crash: Report
A Tuesday morning dump truck crash caused power outages for residents in Lehigh County, LehighValleyLive reports. Nearly 1,400 PPL customers lost power following the crash, which took down wires on Jordan Parkway near Route 145 in Whitehall Township around 9 a.m., the outlet says. A 21-year-old Pennsylvania man died last week after his home in Monroe County became filled with extreme levels of carbon monoxide, authorities said.
