Amtrak Signal Issue Disrupts Service Between Philadelphia And New York An Amtrak signal issue at New York Penn Station has suspended NJ Transit service on Friday, Jan. 12, officials said. All rail service  on the Northeast Corridor, Raritan Valley Line and North Jersey Coast Line is suspended due to Amtrak signal issues, Kyalo Mulumba, a senior public information officer for NJ Transit said.  Bay Head shuttles will continue to operate and Midtown Direct service is being diverted to Hoboken, Mulumba said.  NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being cross honored by PATH at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken and 33rd St-NY and NJ TRANSIT bus…

Pedestrian Struck By Amtrak Train Suspends Service To Philadelphia (Developing) A 39-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in New Jersey, delaying rail service between Philadelphia and New York City Tuesday evening, Feb. 28, authorities said. The name of the man killed had not been released pending notification of family, said Lt. John Bresnen of the Plainsboro Police Department. Amtrak train 178 was traveling from Washington D.C. to Boston at 6:54 p.m. when the victim was struck east of Princeton Junction, an Amtrak spokesman said. Twitter Fumes Over Amtrak Outage Between NYC/Philly, NJ Transit Delays Amtrak and New Jersey Transit commuters were off to a frustrating start Wednesday, Nov. 2. All Amtrak trains were stopped between New York Penn Station and Philadelphia, with delays of up to 45 minutes reported for NJT.  Trains were in motion as of 7:30, but until then, commuters took to Twitter to vent — specifically on Amtrak's post announcing the outage that caused the standstill.
