Amtrak Signal Issue Disrupts Service Between Philadelphia And New York An Amtrak signal issue at New York Penn Station has suspended NJ Transit service on Friday, Jan. 12, officials said. Pedestrian Struck By Amtrak Train Suspends Service To Philadelphia (Developing) A 39-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in New Jersey, delaying rail service between Philadelphia and New York City Tuesday evening, Feb. 28, authorities said. The name of the man killed had not been released pending notification of family, said Lt. John Bresnen of the Plainsboro Police Department. Amtrak train 178 was traveling from Washington D.C. to Boston at 6:54 p.m. when the victim was struck east of Princeton Junction, an Amtrak spokesman said.
