Scranton Tractor Trailer Driver OK After I-80 Crash In NJ
A 32-year-old North Jersey woman suffered serious injuries after being rear-ended by a tractor trailer on Route 80. Troopers responding to the crash Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Wharton, found that the woman's Subaru SUV and tractor trailer were both heading east near milepost 33.8, when the SUV slowed and stopped in the lanes of travel due to a previous crash, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Snow Totals Increase In Latest Winter Storm Predictions
The latest forecast has increased the amount of snow in what's expected to be the first winter storm headed to the region Monday, Feb. 27. Up to eight inches was being predicted as of Monday morning by the National Weather Service, for the areas north of Route 80 in North Jersey and the Poconos. A collection of crime-fighting 'supergroups' nailed 42 defendants in a series of pinpointed attacks on organized gangs dealing drugs, packing weapons and waging street warfare in North Jersey, authorities announced. Another round of winter weather is headed to the area overnight, meteorologists say. Snow and sleet are expected to be heaviest in the Poconos — which could get up to six inches, the National Weather Service predicts. An upcoming rocket launch from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility may be visible across the region. The launch is scheduled for 5:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10.
