Flames Rip Through Penndel Apartment (Photos) Multiple fire departments responded to a blaze at a Penndel residence on Thursday, July 6, officials say.  Firefighters were called to a two-story building at around noon, according to Newtown Fire Rescue. Video from the scene posted by Penndel Volunteer Fire Company showed flames engulfing the back porch of the Acosta Doors building, 145 Durham Road.  Teams were able to get the flames under control in about 20 minutes, Newtown fire officials said. Two Firefighters Killed Battling Schuylkill County Blaze Tributes are pouring in from across state lines and beyond for two firefighters who were tragically killed Wednesday evening battling a Schuylkill County blaze. Assistant Fire Chief Zachary Paris, 36, and Firefighter Marvin Gruber, 59, responded to a blaze with the New Tripoli Fire Company at 1121 Clamtown Rd. in West Penn Township around 4 p.m., the Boonton Fire Dept. said. Both Paris and Gruber became trapped inside the burning home during the rescue and were removed in critical condition. They later succumbed to their injuries. House Goes Up In Flames In Levittown A house went up in flames in Levittown Tuesday, July 12, authorities said. No injuries were reported in the blaze that broke out on Pleasant Lane around 5:30 p.m., according to Levittown Fire Company No. 2. It took firefighters approximately 30 minutes to put out the fire, they said. The cause remains under investigation by the Falls Township Fire Marshal.
