An unmarked box of coloring books led the Lancaster Public Library to cancel a story hour scheduled for Saturday with a "professional drag entertainer" city officials told Daily Voice. Christopher Paul Paolini known by the stage name of Miss Amie Vanité had been facing pushback from the Lancaster County commissioners about the children's Drag Queen Story Hour scheduled at the library. A teenage boy "intentionally rammed" a police cruiser two times, and "drove backward" during a wild chase— involving guns and drugs—in Lancaster, city police say. It all started when Officer Yoder of the Lancaster City police spotted the boy driving a vehicle with a broken light at 777 Manor Street around 5:16 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, according to a release by the police department. Armed Bystander Shot Teen Gunman At Lancaster's Park City Mall, Police Say
As the investigation into the shooting at Park City Center continues, the Lancaster City Bureau of Police have released new information on exactly what happened in the mall on Sunday around 2:30 p.m. Police believe there was a fight between two men who knew each other, and at least one of the men had a concealed weapon. What was first reported as a suspicious death, has been revealed to be a disturbing murder. Donald Lawrence Meshey Jr., 32, of Lancaster was arrested on Wednesday after admitting to police that he stabbed and Dismembered his father, according to Lancaster city police. Bomb Threat Made To Office of Pennsylvania District Judge
A state judge's office was evacuated after a bomb threat was made on Wednesday morning, say police. Magisterial District Judge Russell’s staff received a threat by phone to his office at 609 East Main Street around 9:25 a.m., according to Ephrata Borough police. The building houses both the MDJ office and The Shopping News-- both were evacuated. Police cleared the building with the assistance of a Lancaster City Police explosive detection K-9. The building was reoccupied at 1:00 p.m. There's no word on any suspects, motives or arrests.
