Football Player Dead, Others Hurt In Philadelphia High School Ambush: Police A teenage football player was killed and four of his teammates injured when two gunmen ambushed them outside a Philadelphia high school on Tuesday, Sept. 27, authorities said. It happened as the five players were walking off the field after a football scrimmage between Roxborough High School and two other schools around 4:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Fairway Terrace, Philadelphia police told the media. Methacton Lacrosse Coach Who Punched Player During Game Faces Harassment Charge A volunteer lacrosse coach who last month punched a North Penn High School player during a game has been charged with harassment. The charge carries a $300 fine and maximum sentence of 90 days in jail for Garth Little, 50, CBS News reports. NJ High School Junior, Varsity Lacrosse Goalie Alexea Karpinski Dies, 17 Hunterdon Central High School junior and varsity lacrosse goalie Alexea Karpinski died Nov. 21. She was 17. Born and raised in Raritan Township, Karpinski was known for her love of sports, particularly lacrosse. She played as goalie for the Hunterdon Central Red Devils as well as for the Triple Threat Elite Club Team, her obituary says. Karpinski had a goal of playing D1 lacrosse while pursuing an exercise science degree. She wanted to become a professional athletic trainer, her memorial says.
