Raccoon Tests Positive For Rabies In Frenchtown
A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Frenchtown, health officials said. The animal was seen acting erratically near Route 513 and Cedar Street and tested positive for rabies on Wednesday, Feb. 16, according to the Hunterdon County Dept. of Health. The department urges anyone who may have come into contact with the raccoon between Thursday, Jan. 27 and Thursday, Feb. 10 to see their primary care physician to determine whether there is a need for prophylaxis treatment. A beloved Hunterdon County bowling alley will soon close its doors after decades in business. Hunterdon County’s famous “River Hot Dog Man” and tubing business owner Gregory Crance died of COVID-19 complications Monday afternoon. He was 56. Crance was the owner of Delaware River Tubing in Alexandria Township — a one-of-a-kind business that offers tubing, rafting and boating excursions down the Delaware River with a free BBQ meal served halfway through each trip by Crance himself. DeSales Community Mourns Baseball Player, TV Reporter, Cheerleader Dead In Weekend Crash
The DeSales University community is mourning the loss of a standout baseball player and two graduates killed in a weekend crash that left a senior student injured. The car the group was traveling when the vehicle veered off the road on the 4400 block of Lanark Road and hit a tree around 8:40 p.m. Saturday, in Upper Saucon, authorities said. Sean Hanczaryk, Nick White and Emily Kattner -- the latter two who were in a relationship -- were pronounced dead at the scene.
