A 43-year-old mom of two allegedly caused a head-on crash into a tree by driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, Northern Lancaster County Regional Police detailed in a release on Thursday, Feb. 9. Kristen Leigh Gantz of Lititz crashed a black Honda Pilot into a tree along East Oregon Road, Manheim Township around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 12, according to Officer William R. McHale IV in the affidavit of probable cause obtained by Daily Voice. Gantz crashed in such a way that she "could only be freed by mechanical means," as stated in the affidavit. Babysitter Beat Toddler Who Died In Bathtub: Philadelphia Police
A 23-year-old babysitter has been charged with multiple offenses after the 3-year-old she was babysitting was found unresponsive in a bathtub and later died, authorities said. Kiarali Rodriguez-Ayala is believed to have assaulted the toddler and one other child on Friday, Feb. 17, Philadelphia police said. The 3-year-old girl was rushed to CHOP at 2:30 a.m., after she was found unresponsive apparently by Rodriguez-Ayala in the tub, police said. A warrant has been issued for a woman serving probation for felon endangering the welfare of children but never returned for her work release job on Thursday, Dec. 8 authorities say. 27-year-old Kathleen Elizabeth Castro-Zavala of Chambersburg was released, only serving 28 days in prison, after being found guilty of a felony endangering welfare of children charge in 2020, court records detail.
